Milo Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Milo, a product of Lythe Labs. These Terms govern your access to and use of Milo's services, including our AI conversational matchmaker delivered via Telegram and any associated websites or forms (collectively, the "Services").

Milo helps students meet peers for social, academic and extracurricular connections through conversational onboarding, matching and consent-based introductions. By using the Services (including messaging Milo on Telegram), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. WHAT THESE TERMS APPLY TO

These Terms apply to your use of the Services, including when you:

  • message or interact with Milo on messaging platforms (currently Telegram);
  • create or update your match card or user profile;
  • request, receive, accept or decline match suggestions and introductions;
  • participate in group chats or conversations facilitated by Milo;
  • visit our websites, forms or landing pages (if any); or
  • communicate with us for support, feedback or operational reasons.

These Terms do not apply to third-party services that you may access through links or integrations. Those third parties are responsible for their own terms and policies.

2. IMPORTANT TERMS (DEFINITIONS)

To make these Terms easier to read:

  • "Services" refers to Milo's platform and related features, including the AI conversational matchmaker on Telegram, any websites or forms we operate and any communications we provide.
  • "Milo" refers to Lythe's AI-powered conversational agent that helps students meet and collaborate through curated onboarding, match suggestions and group introductions.
  • "User Profile" and "Match Card" refers to the structured set of data you provide during onboarding or updates (e.g., name, school, year, availability, interests, intent tags, collaboration style and boundaries).
  • "Match" refers to a suggested introduction between two or more users based on their profiles and preferences.
  • "Messaging Platform" refers to a third-party messaging service used to communicate with Milo (currently Telegram).
  • "Content" refers to any text, messages, audio (if applicable), files, profile details, feedback or other materials submitted through the Services.

Capitalised terms not defined here may be defined in our Privacy Policy.

3. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age required to provide valid consent in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with appropriate permission (such as parental or guardian consent). You represent that any information you provide is true and accurate. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services does not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

4. THE SERVICES (WHAT WE DO)

Milo provides a chat-based matching network that helps connect students for social, academic and extracurricular purposes. The Services include onboarding to collect basic profile information, intent understanding to determine what you are looking for, matchmaking to identify potential connections and consent-based introductions via group chat. Milo may use AI-enabled systems to interpret messages, generate suggestions and orchestrate conversations.

Important: Milo is not a dating service, employer, staffing agency, recruiter or professional advisor. Milo does not guarantee that a match will be available, suitable, safe or successful. Milo does not control the conduct of users or third parties. You are responsible for your own interactions and decisions when meeting or communicating with others.

5. ACCOUNTS, PROFILES AND COMMUNICATIONS

5A. Your profile

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your match card or user profile. You will keep your information up to date and do your best to ensure that the data you share is truthful and relevant. Inaccurate or misleading information may affect match quality or lead to removal from the Services.

5B. Messaging and service communications

By using the Services, you consent to receiving service-related communications, including match suggestions, confirmations, reminders, updates and policy notices via the messaging platforms you use to access Milo. These communications are necessary to operate the Services. If you wish to stop receiving non-essential communications, you may tell Milo "stop" or contact us, and we will take reasonable steps to comply.

5C. Opt-out of match suggestions

If you decide you no longer wish to receive match suggestions or introductions, you may pause or delete your profile by using the appropriate command within Milo or contacting us. Note that we may need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or for legitimate business purposes.

6. USE OF THE SERVICES

6A. Your responsibilities

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and any community guidelines we provide. You will not misuse the Services, misrepresent your identity or intentions, spam other users or engage in conduct that harasses, threatens, discriminates or harms others. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and any consequences arising from those interactions.

6B. Use of AI outputs

Milo may use AI-enabled systems to interpret messages, understand intent, generate match suggestions and send prompts. AI outputs may be incorrect or incomplete. You agree to verify important details before acting on them and understand that these outputs are for informational purposes only. You will not rely on Milo's suggestions or messages as professional advice (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). Milo is not responsible for decisions you make based solely on AI outputs.

6C. No fees (currently)

Milo does not currently charge fees to users for matchmaking or introductions. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, but will notify you and request your agreement before charging any fees.

6D. Service changes and interruptions

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We may also introduce new features or limit access to certain features during testing. You may stop using the Services at any time. Milo is not liable for any losses that result from modifications, interruptions or discontinuation of the Services.

7. ACCEPTABLE USE (WHAT YOU CAN'T DO)

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • violate any law, regulation or third-party rights;
  • request, promote or coordinate illegal or inappropriate activities;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate or abuse others;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • share others' personal data without permission;
  • spam, send unsolicited communications or manipulate match outcomes;
  • attempt to bypass safety checks, rate limits or platform controls;
  • upload malware or attempt unauthorised access to or interference with any system;
  • misrepresent AI outputs as human communications for deception or fraud;
  • generate or distribute content that is defamatory, hateful, obscene or otherwise violates applicable laws or regulations.

We may remove content, limit distribution or suspend or terminate access for violations.

8. AI AND AUTOMATION DISCLOSURE (MILO)

Milo uses AI-enabled systems to interpret your messages, understand your preferences and generate match suggestions and prompts. AI outputs are generated based on patterns in data and may include inaccuracies or omissions. You agree to verify important details, treat AI outputs as informational only and not rely on them as professional advice. Milo is not responsible for decisions you make based solely on AI outputs.

9. CONTENT YOU PROVIDE

9A. Your ownership

You retain ownership of your Content, including messages, profile information, preferences and any attachments you submit.

9B. Licence to Milo

You grant Milo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), process and display your Content only to operate, maintain and improve the Services, including training and refining models, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

9C. Your responsibilities

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the Content and that it does not violate laws or third-party rights. You must ensure your Content complies with these Terms and our acceptable use policy.

10. MILO'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Services, including Milo's workflows, matching algorithms, branding and underlying software, are owned by Lythe or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer or exploit the Services except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Services rely on third-party providers (for example, Telegram for messaging, cloud hosting, analytics and AI processing). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. Milo is not responsible for third-party services or their terms.

12. PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, transfer and protect personal data in connection with the Services, including Milo and messaging platforms. Please review the Milo Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

13. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if we reasonably believe you:

  • violated these Terms;
  • created risk or possible legal exposure;
  • engaged in fraud or abuse; or
  • repeatedly disrupted the community or our systems.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

14. DISCLAIMERS

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Milo disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Milo does not guarantee that matches will be available, that introductions will be successful, that users will behave appropriately or that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Milo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or other intangible losses arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Milo's total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of:

  • S$100; or
  • the amount you paid Milo (if any) in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in that case, the limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted.

16. INDEMNITY

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Milo and Lythe and their directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

  • your use of the Services;
  • your Content;
  • your interactions with other users;
  • your violation of these Terms; or
  • your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

17. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, unless Milo specifies an alternative dispute resolution process in writing.

18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised "Last Updated" date. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the Services.
